Look Back

By now we have reached to the end of the Personal Progress Development course module with lots of skills and wonderful memories. When I came to the university, the very first day I was so scared, because this is a totally different environment with new friends, totally different culture and all these things. In the first PPD session we had to introduce our selves and there are some activities to get to know others. after that there were some games and activities like lava river, blind square, blind submarine and around 30 activities to build up and improve our soft skills specially leadership, time management, decision making, creativity. We did all these activities in group wise. Then we became very close friends like sisters and brothers in a one family. Outbound Training at Trincomalee Eastern Command Naval Base, Sri Lanka Navy

It was the most wonderful PPD session for all of our batch mates. Though, some of us experienced this outbound training in the Leadership training program conducted by government for the students those who selected for universities, we enjoyed these two days with our university gang more than that 3 weeks. Because this was not like other lectures there were so many outdoor activities organized by navy officers there. The most wonderful thing for me is most of those activities were at the beach side. First we went there they have organized a delicious lunch for us. Then one of the navy officer told us rules and regulations in the camp. After that we were grouped into four groups, each group had 19 members including both male and female. Then we enjoyed with leadership activities with our groups. Hotel School Session

Actually it was a very delicious PPD session with lots of delicious foods at Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management.😋 We learnt lot about table ethics as well as how to dress properly for special events, how to behave in official meetings like occasions etc. As future software engineers we have to have discipline and knowledge about how to behave in a meeting and how to express our views without putting down others and how to brand our self  like important criteria s.  There are some important things which we should not do in the official meetings. Latest Software Engineering Trends

As another PPD session there were two resource persons, HR manager and a software engineer came from industry(hsenid Mobile company) for giving us a brief introduction about latest trends in software engineering field. First, the HR manager conduct the session and she gave us an idea about how the industry does recruitment and what are the skills we should improve before enter to the industry.  After that the software engineer conduct the session.
